George Bell

George has been involved in the creation and growth of consumer businesses for 25 years. Before Jumptap, he was a Managing Director of General Catalyst, a venture capital and growth equity firm that manages over $1.7B of assets. Prior to that, he was CEO of Upromise, the country’s largest college savings service, sold in 2006 to Sallie Mae. Previously, George was Chairman and CEO of Excite@Home, bringing together the Excite portal with the @Home cable broadband platform in a $7 billion merger. George was CEO of Excite prior to the merger, led the company’s IPO, oversaw the acquisition of more than 20 companies and expanded Excite into a worldwide media property. Earlier George founded The Outdoor Life Network (now Versus Network), a specialty cable channel reaching 60+MM homes; and served as SVP, Times Mirror Magazines, where he oversaw eight special interest magazines, such as SKI and Field & Stream.

He won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award both in California and New England and four national Emmy Awards as a producer and writer of adventure, wildlife and vanishing culture documentaries. George has also been featured in TIME, Fortune, Forbes and Business Week, has appeared regularly on CNBC as both as a guest and co-host, and he’s spoken extensively on new media, convergence, and leadership.

George is a graduate of Harvard College, earning a B.A. in English

John Simon

As a Managing Director of General Catalyst Partners, Mr. Simon is a board member of Hands-On Mobile as well as media/technology companies, such as BzzAgent, go2 Media, and QuickPlay Media. He formerly served on the boards of Maven Networks, m-Qube, ProfitLogic, and Taleo. Prior to co-founding General Catalyst, Mr. Simon was founder, Chairman, and CEO of UroMed Corporation (NASDAQ: URMD), which was merged to form Alliant Medical Technologies. Before UroMed, Mr. Simon led marketing and sales at Adaptive Networks and was a venture capitalist with Highland Capital Partners and Charles River Ventures. Mr. Simon earned a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.A. from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

David Karnstedt

David Karnstedt is President and CEO of Efficient Frontier. David leads overall strategy and is responsible for the management and operations of the company. Prior, he served as Executive-in-Residence for Redpoint Ventures, a current Jumptap investor. He also served as senior Vice President of Yahoo!’s North American Sales, where he drove $3 billion worth of revenue and established Yahoo! as a recognized leader in both display and search marketing. He left his earlier mark shaping product, sales and marketing for well-known companies including Wired Digital, AltaVista and Overture.

Scott Raney

Scott Raney is a Partner with Redpoint Ventures focusing on information and consumer technology, and service investments in consumer, enterprise, wireless, and cleantech segments. Scott serves on the board of directors of adap.tv, mig33, and LetsTalk, and is involved with Redpoint’s investments in Gaia Online, Cortina Systems, Mobilygen, MobiTV, and Kodiak Networks. Prior to joining Redpoint, Scott served as Senior Manager of New Products with NorthPoint Communications, a data CLEC providing nationwide DSL services. Scott managed NorthPoint’s first consumer product and led product development of other new products. Prior to NorthPoint, Scott worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he helped clients in the private equity and telecommunications industries. Previously, Scott was the Director of Engineering for VideoPort Technologies, a developer of videoconferencing hardware. Scott began his career at Andersen Consulting as a member of the Advanced Technology Group where he assisted clients in the telecommunications industry. Scott holds a B.S.E.E., with high distinction, from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Gary Rubinoff

Prior to joining Summerhill Venture Partners (previously BCE Capital) in 2001, Gary was a partner at J.L. Albright Venture Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing a number of venture backed companies. Gary was also a partner at Jefferson Partners Capital, a technology focused venture capital firm, and president and general manager of Scholz Research & Development, a Boston-based technology company. Gary began his career as a lawyer and practiced corporate/securities law at Gowling, Strathy & Henderson, and Fasken, Campbell & Godfrey, both in Toronto. Gary’s past successes include Service Soft (acquired by Kana Software), Isolation Systems (acquired by Shiva/Intel), i-star Internet (TSE IPO and acquired by PSI Net), and Wescam Inc. (TSE IPO). Gary is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Gary received both his LLB and his MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Gary’s board duties include Intellon, Bridgeport Networks and Jump Tap.

Kevin Fortuna

Kevin Fortuna is a media and start-up veteran with deal-making and C-level management experience at both Fortune 500 and smaller companies. He was most recently President and CEO of Quigo, an advertising technology company which was acquired by Time Warner’s AOL division in 2007.

Prior to joining Quigo in 2005, he was the founder and Managing Partner of Dedalus Capital, a boutique M&A consultancy and venture firm. Prior to Dedalus, Kevin was a key operating and business development executive at two IPO-track internet companies: Juno Online Services and NBC Internet (formerly CNET/Snap.com). Kevin has built and managed market-leading business development, electronic commerce, product development, engineering, logistics and customer service organizations and helped to create billions of dollars in equity value. Kevin has also been a highly successful angel investor and advisor to a variety of start-up companies.

Kevin graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He serves on the Boards of Directors for Jumptap, FameBall, Achieve, Dedalus Enterprises, Concern Worldwide, and Moose Riverkeeper and is on the advisory boards of Outbrain, ShareThis, HopStop and Snooth.
