Principal Software Engineer, Search Technology


Description

The Principal Software Engineer, Search Technology is responsible for implementing Java algorithms in support of a large-scale, high-availability search engine focused on the mobile platform. The right candidate has several years of experience with distributed search algorithms, including crawling, indexing, and relevancy tuning as well as a demonstrated ability to apply this experience to specialized search applications. The candidate must have a strong background in both server-side Java and relational databases and will have developed and deployed highly available applications using Tomcat and Apache. Projects will include crawler improvements, data feed handling, relevancy algorithms, analytics, performance optimization, and collaborative filtering.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Java server-side code to enhance the search engine and supporting infrastructure.
  • Build content management tools and web user interfaces to allow editorial control of data.
  • Design and develop custom search applications, focused on specific vertical content areas.
  • Work closely with product management to refine next-generation product definition.
  • Write supporting design and delivery documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a Four-Year College or University; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
  • Strong Java programmer with 5-7 years of professional experience and solid object- and pattern-oriented design skills.
  • Java server-side development essential, with strong understanding of memory & thread management.
  • Strong experience with JSP, Java Servlets, and JMS.
  • Relational database skills (MySQL preferred).
  • Experience with emerging technologies and frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring.

Senior Product Manager - Advertising


Description

As a member of the Search and Advertising Team, the SPM is responsible for the building and managing new advertising platforms and technologies. The SPM performs market research, competitive analysis and analyzes product usage to identify customer needs to define and manage the product roadmaps. The SPM will be responsible for the development of core monetization platforms for domestic and international deployment. The products will span paid search, pay-per-call, banner, contextual and behavioral targeting technologies.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product Management/Definition:

    Conducts primary research, surveys and usability studies; plus, reviews market requirements, and synthesizes partner requirements to help define the mobile advertiser product roadmap. Responsible for the development of the feature product specifications.
  • Tracking and Reporting:

    Monitors product usage to observe trends and make data driven decisions. Responsible for defining reporting requirements as part of the product specification process.
  • Project/Roadmap Management:

    Contributes to the definition and responsible for the maintenance of the product roadmap. Leads and holds roadmap meetings with the cross-functional team and the partner teams to roll out new products and service integrations throughout the product lifecycle. Prepares and presents quarterly product roadmap updates to carrier partners.
  • Strategic Partner Relationships:

    Creates Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for technology partnerships and related services, evaluates responses, and provides product input for vendor selection.
  • Marketing & Sales:

    Provides support for product marketing and sales efforts to drive advertiser sign up and utilization. This includes preparing product documentation, reviewing marketing collateral, identifying marketing outlets, and monitoring the ROI on the marketing investment.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing complex online advertising products and enjoys and rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.
  • Strong leadership in a cross-functional environment is a must with proven capabilities to work with design, engineering, quality assurance and vendor teams.
  • BA/BS degree and 7-10 years of product management experience, MBA desirable.

Principal Software Engineer - Solutions


Description

Reporting to the Solutions Manager the Solutions Architect is responsible for the high and detail design and architecture of custom-tailored customer solutions based on JumpTap’s core search and advertising platform. The solution architect will be required to engage with product management, project management, research & development, customers, and partners in order to build the most suitable solution for the customer. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for significant hands-on coding.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writing technical specifications & high level designs for complex distributed J2EE systems.
  • The technological and technical focal point for the team.
  • Reviewing and contributing to new R&D specifications and staying up to date about new changes in the company portfolio and technological market trends.
  • Introducing new products & features to the team.
  • Support presales process in scoping and RFP responses.
  • Engage into coding when required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a Four-Year College or University; or equivalent combination of both education and experience. Computer Science Degree a plus.

Product Manager - Intern


Description

Manager, Advertising Programs


Description

Work with the JumpTap Ad Sales team to develop the group’s mobile marketing solutions for key vertical categories. Responsible for developing and implementing a solutions-based sales strategy to meet the objectives of clients/agencies and maximize the value of JumpTap’s mobile marketing assets and capabilities.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic and innovative mobile advertising solutions and customer-centric marketing programs across key vertical ad categories.
  • Utilize multiple resources and industry research to quickly understand the key business problems and marketing strategies in a given vertical.
  • Translate input from sales leads & clients into clear, concise actionable objectives.
  • Interpret significance of key trends and their relevance to the vertical categories.
  • Develop innovative mobile marketing solutions that leverage JumpTap assets, and third party partnerships as appropriate.
  • Create advertising pitch materials for key verticals, including strategy & objectives, marketing solutions, visual representations/screenshots, and related research & reporting.
  • Articulate success metrics that are both actionable and directly tied to objectives.
  • Objectively analyze performance of vertical programs and recommend actions for continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years in interactive marketing strategy/client-services roles (advertising, media planning, consulting, research)
  • Ability to build a strategy that is grounded in consumer behavior

Regional Advertising Sales Director


Description

This individual will lead a world-class Advertising Sales team in recruiting new clients into JumpTap's Mobile Search Advertising platform. This individual will be the focal point in generating and growing revenue for JumpTap through client advertising. S/he must be an enthusiastic evangelist in conveying the value of Mobile Search Advertising to advertisers, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) agencies, strategic partners and the online advertising industry as a whole. This individual will hire, train, coach and supervise the team of sales professionals.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and lead world-class and worldwide Sales team for JumpTap advertising services
  • Drive revenue growth by enrolling and up-selling key advertisers
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with advertising and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) agencies and national advertisers
  • Evaluate and drive business development and account management processes
  • Manage sales operations for international advertising sales team
  • Evangelize JumpTap's advertising and product suite to strategic industry partners
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Proven record of effective online sales, agency recruitment and sustained revenue growth
  • 7+ years experience in media sales management role in online or software industry required

Revenue Accountant


Description

Revenue Accountant needed for a fulltime opportunity with a global mobile search and advertising startup in Cambridge, MA. Responsibilities will include complete ownership of the revenue cycle from order management, invoicing, recognition and collection.


 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculating monthly revenue accruals in accordance with GAAP
  • Generating monthly invoices for domestic and foreign customers
  • Monthly tracking of earned revenue by individual advertising campaigns
  • Tracking and calculating revenue share payments to third party partners
  • Collection activities

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree B.S. in Accounting from a Four-Year College or University; minimum 5 - 7 years experience in revenue accounting
  • Ideal experience will include work in a high volume transaction environment with experience in sales order processing systems implementations to scale the business
  • Will require an individual who can interface with sales personnel, interpret sales contracts for revenue recognition and revenue share payments, and has proven experience taking ownership of a process
  • Familiarity with EITF 00-21 and EITF 99-19
  • Proficiency in G/L and Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel
