There’s growing concern that public opinion polls, which do not include cellphones aren’t accurate because of the rising number of younger people who have dropped their landlines. For instance, polling in the 2008 presidential election shows a very tight race between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, but if you add cellphones, Obama, which has a younger following, takes the lead, according to a report by the Pew Research Center.
At Mobilize, a panel tackled the issue of where the noise and opportunities are for mobile when it comes to monetizing content. The big question was on whether it’s too early to use location to provide more context to search.
The announcement today by JumpTap that it will be providing mobile search and advertising services to U.S. Cellular, further demonstrates that mobile-search is still anyone’s game. The Cambridge, Mass.-based company plans to make the announcement today at Qualcomm’s (NSDQ: QCOM) Brew conference in San Diego.
