Jared Hand and Regina Sebring Join Team

We’ve had an exciting start to 2011 by welcoming 27 new members to the Jumptap team!  Most recently, Jared Hand joined us as Vice President of Sales and Regina Sebring as Vice President of Publisher Partnerships.  Sebring joins Jumptap from AudienceScience where she oversaw publisher relationships and business development.  Hand brings extensive digital sales experience to Jumptap, having led sales teams at top companies including Gorilla Nation and Clear Channel.

CEO George Bell Presents at 4As’ Transformation

mpmisThe goal of the AAAA’s “Transformation” is to influence how brands communicate, change how agencies think, and collaborate with the advertising industry.  Jumptap CEO, George Bell, shared his expert insights on how mobile can and will contribute to the evolution and growth of digital advertising.  In his 10-minute presentation, he unveiled the concept of “appendage media,” playing off of the idea that mobile is an extension of our hand; intuitive by nature and always at our fingertips.  He drove the point home by showing images of an infant playing with an iPhone.  Bell also touched on Jumptap’s initiative to integrate data into mobile advertising, empowering advertisers to more effectively engage their audiences.

Game Developers Conference in Review

gdcJeremy Bass (Business Development) was on hand at GDC, letting developers know about our 90/90/90 promotion.  As the promotion took hold, several things became clear; most importantly that game developers are either exploring or fully committed to the freemium model.  By offering a free/lite ad-supported version of their game—they can grow their footprint and up sell users with additional levels and features.  Bass also emphasized the momentum of the smartphone summit, noting the quality and relevance of the high profile speakers.  The 90/90/90 promotion eases developers through the freemium transition, with an increased revenue share.  If you want a 90% revenue share for the next 90 days, reach out to jeremy.bass@jumptap.com to make sure you’re eligible as one of the first 90 developers!

Research Reveals Mobile Advertising Adoption Moves Mainstream

On February 24, CMO Paran Johar presented to a packed room at Digiday Mobile intriguing new survey data from nearly 350 advertising and mobile executives from all around the ecosystem.  The research finds that mobile advertising is heading into the mainstream consciousness of brands, agencies and publishers, at hyper speed and that the key issues mirror those of early Internet advertising adoption.  The survey showcases that while advertisers are embracing mobile platforms, they still need better education, planning and measurement tools as well as targeting technology to help them get there.  Highlights include:

  • 4 of 5 marketers have engaged in mobile advertising
  • Targeting ranked #1 above price and reach
  • Respondents’ preferred buying method was evenly split
  • Two thirds of respondents plan to add Android in 2011
  • Three quarters of respondents’ primary aim was awareness or acquisition
  • Entertainment was the largest channel for two thirds of respondents

CEO George Bell on the Future of Media

Jumptap CEO George Bell continues to lend his perspective on the future of media.  On February 8th Bloomberg BusinessWeek included his insights in the article: AOL Wages on Huffington in Shoot the Moon Purchase. “Advertisers want to go where the quality audiences are,” Bell said.  As the leader in targeted mobile advertising, Jumptap technology excels at doing exactly that—connecting advertisers to quality audiences.  Bell also raised the question “Why not shoot the moon on content,” which ties directly to last week’s Jumptap blog piece “Consumers Want Relevance in Mobile Ads.”  Content is king and advertisers should seek out placements on premium mobile properties to connect with high quality audiences.

Jumptap Kicks Off Mobile Insider Summit

mpmisOn February 3rd Chief Revenue and Media Officer, Todd Anderman, kicked off Mediapost’s Mobile Insider Summit with a breakfast presentation: “The Changing Face of the Mobile Insider.” The three day event in Key Biscayne, FL focused on Change Agents, Marketing Untethered and Media in the Post-Desktop World and was attended by top marketers, including Jumptap CMO Paran Johar.  Johar moderated the roundtable: “Activating In-store.”  Discussions spanned from mobile implications on Madison Avenue agencies to understanding teens’ mobile consumption patterns.  One session actually included a few teens so marketers could hear first hand where media is heading (hint: the teens said that they hadn’t checked their email in over a week, but text and Facebook constantly.)  For more information:
